Introduction of Women’s health specialty group
Women have different health concerns at different life stages-from pregnancy to senior. Physiotherapy is shown to alleviate the symptoms of incontinence, prolapse, pelvic girdle pain, prenatal and postpartum musculoskeletal pain, constipation, lymphoedema and osteoporosis across women’s life span. Women’s health specialty group is to promote physiotherapists, health care professionals and the public on women’s health and contribute to the development of this specialty area.
Our mission
To provide consultation in respect of physiotherapy practice in obstetrics and gynecology, such as incontinence, osteoporosis and constipation, and other aspects of women’s health
To uphold the professional interest of Hong Kong Physiotherapists working in the said Physiotherapy Practice
To coordinate activities and organize continuing education, training and research in women’s health for its members
To endeavour the professional standard of physiotherapists working in women’s health area amongst the health care profession
To liaise and collaborate with related local and international organizations
