Our Story

The Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association was officially founded in 1963 and was incorporated in 1998. Provisional membership of World Physiotherapy was gained in 1976 and full membership was subsequently earned in 1978. In 1994, the Association joined the Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong as an Associate Member.

香港物理治療學會公開聲明

最近我們知悉某些私營運動治療或康復中心聲稱能為患有痛症人士提供物理治療或康復治療,這些中心內某些職員更自稱為物理治療師,但他們的姓名並未刊登於物理治療師管理委員會的註冊物理治療師名冊內。那麼根據《輔助醫療業條例》,這些職員並非註冊物理治療師或合資格人士去提供物理治療;他們提供物理治療是非法的。若痛症病人在這些沒有註冊物理治療師或合資格專業人士的運動治療或康復中心接受服務,會出現以下的問題:

  1. 病人的健康問題得不到妥善與專業的評估和治療,甚至會增加病情延誤處理或惡化的風險!
  2. 由非合資格人士提供治療服務,醫療事故的風險會增大;亦沒有正式渠道去處理投訴與專業索償。

我們強烈呼籲大眾市民在現行轉介制度下向註冊物理治療師尋求治療,以保障治療服務質素。若與物理治療師有糾紛或治療出現問題,可向物理治療師管理委員會作出投訴與跟進。
