Ms. Lavinia Wong
Title of talk: The legend of aquatic therapy for people with arthritis and rheumatic conditions: local service overview and future development
Ms. Lavinia Wong, serving the Aquatic therapy work group of HKPA since establishment and works as Senior Clinical Associate in Tung Wah College. She had received her post graduate hydrotherapy trainings in US since 2006 and had been pursuing her hydro career in the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation for almost two decades. She is actively involved in hydrotherapy and related professional trainings locally as well as mainland and overseas in past years. Apart from clinical practice, Lavinia is the professional advisors of various arthritis patient groups and the executive members of the Scientific committee of the Hong Kong Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation.
Dr. Wilson Li
Title of talk: Non arthroplasty treatment options for arthritis
Dr. Wilson Li is currently the Chief of Trauma Service in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the largest hospital in Hong Kong. He is also the President of the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Li has been appointed as Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at both local medical schools, and also as Honorary Professor of Jishuitan Orthopaedic College of Peking University in Beijing. He has co-authored several authoritative textbooks on trauma and orthopaedic surgery, including the ATLS manual by the American College of Surgeons and the Manual of Internal Fixators by the AO Foundation; and has published widely in his research areas of sports medicine, fracture fixation, osteoporosis, and trauma prevention. He was the founding co-chairman of the AO Alumni Association Hong Kong Chapter, and founding President of the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association Sports Medicine Chapter.
