Aquatic physiotherapy refers to physiotherapy treatments and therapeutic exercises performed in water for physical rehabilitation, fitness, and other therapeutic gains. It is one of the key learning components in the curriculum of physiotherapy education.
The seminar will talk about the cutting-edge development of aquatic physiotherapy based on the latest scientific evidence, and the global standards of aquatic physiotherapy services. It will also reveal how the physiotherapy education institutions develop learning and teaching activities in relation to aquatic physiotherapy practice in their physiotherapy education programs, and discuss the challenges encountered in developing aquatic physiotherapy curriculum.
A panel discussion on the urge to develop an educational framework for aquatic physiotherapy in Hong Kong will take place too. At the end of the seminar, a newly developed professional program in aquatic physiotherapy, titled ‘Professional Certificate in Aquatic Physiotherapy’, organized by PolyU SPEED will be introduced to all participants.
