The Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association (HKPA) is pleased to invite you to attend an educational seminar titled “Do Stratified Care Models for Musculoskeletal Pain Work?”, followed by the HKPA Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), on Saturday, 2 August 2025.

Stratified care models for musculoskeletal pain have been proposed and experimented for several decades. There are three major approaches of stratified care for musculoskeletal pain, particularly for back pain: model based on patients’ prognosis, model based on underlying causal mechanisms and model based on treatment responsiveness. In this seminar, the current evidence and progress of stratified care models for musculoskeletal pain (with focus on prognostic model of back pain) would be revisited and discussed.

Aquatic physiotherapy refers to physiotherapy treatments and therapeutic exercises performed in water for physical rehabilitation, fitness, and other therapeutic gains. It is one of the key learning components in the curriculum of physiotherapy education.
The seminar will talk about the cutting-edge development of aquatic physiotherapy based on the latest scientific evidence, and the global standards of aquatic physiotherapy services. It will also reveal how the physiotherapy education institutions develop learning and teaching activities in relation to aquatic physiotherapy practice in their physiotherapy education programs, and discuss the challenges encountered in developing aquatic physiotherapy curriculum.
A panel discussion on the urge to develop an educational framework for aquatic physiotherapy in Hong Kong will take place too.
