[HKPA x Healthlink] Integrating IVS4 in Neurological Rehabilitation: Theory, Evidence, and Clinical Translation

Scan to register
Screenshot 2025-06-12 at 10.10.42
OR

This presentation presents IVS4 concept, an integrated system combining Action Observation (AO), Motor Imagery (MI), and Mirror Therapy (MT) to exploit mental repetition as a boost for neuroplasticity. By activating shared motor networks via mental simulation, these techniques induce plasticity, bypassing physical limitations to accelerate motor recovery.

We present clinical evidence validating IVS4 efficacy in lower limb and gait rehabilitation across various pathologies, highlighting device-specific outcomes. Implementation frameworks for clinical adoption are discussed, including synergistic integration with other techniques.

Lisa Stahlhofen (Kliniken Valens) supplements these findings with a pain management case report and an innovative research program combining IVS4 with robotic gait training, demonstrating all the potential of such approach in day-to-day practice.

Organizer: HKPA

Direct Access Physiotherapy Practice: Medical Screening – A Critical Element

Scan to register
Screenshot 2025-06-05 at 16.51.29
OR

The Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association (HKPA) is pleased to invite you to the upcoming Event, “Direct Access Physiotherapy Practice: Medical Screening – A Critical Element”, which is an online webinar about direct access in physiotherapy practice and medical screening.

The direct access health care delivery model is marked by:

  1. decreased need for expensive medical tests and invasive medical procedures,
  2. decreased health care costs, and
  3. enhanced patient outcomes, and
  4. enhanced patient and practitioner satisfaction.

These benefits will be rendered meaningless if patient safety is compromised. While physiotherapists have the responsibility to screen all patients and to refer patients who present with concerning examination findings, these responsibilities are heightened when physiotherapist practice is the patient’s entry-point into the health care system.

This webinar will explore physiotherapists’ ability to carry out appropriate medical screening. A patient case will provide the framework of a medical screening schematic. Medical screening resources will be provided.
